Health Nexus Launceston is open when most practices are shut: until 8pm on weekdays, all day Saturday and Sunday, and on every public holiday of the year including Christmas Day and New Year's Day. It is a general practice, so you get ongoing care as well as urgent care.

Booking an evening or weekend appointment
Book online through AutoMed, phone (03) 6351 5610, or send an urgent appointment request and reception will fit you in with the first available doctor. Evening and weekend appointments are booked the same way as daytime ones. The walk-in clinic needs no appointment at all.
Blood tests ordered during your visit can usually be collected in the building, and emergency and after-hours dental care is available here through Launceston Dentists at Health Nexus. Parking is free on site.
When to go to the Emergency Department instead
Call 000 or go to the Launceston General Hospital Emergency Department for chest pain or pressure, symptoms of a stroke, severe difficulty breathing, heavy bleeding that will not stop, a serious injury, loss of consciousness, seizures or a severe allergic reaction.
Fees after hours

Fees and Medicare
Health Nexus Launceston is a mixed-billing practice. Children aged 12 and under are bulk billed whenever the practice is open, including evenings and weekends. Pension card holders over 65 and DVA Gold Card holders are bulk billed on weekdays between 8am and 5pm. Everyone else pays the consultation fee with the Medicare rebate claimed on the spot.
