Important Referral Guidelines
- Specialist Requests: Referrals are only available to patients who have had a previous discussion with their regular doctor at Health Nexus Launceston regarding the need for a specific specialist.
- Mental Health Referrals: To request a referral to a mental health service or to schedule ongoing reviews with that provider, you must have an appointment with your regular doctor at Health Nexus Launceston.
- Imaging Requests: Our doctors will not process requests for imaging unless discussed with the regular GP. This policy ensures that all imaging requests are medically necessary and appropriately managed.
Important Script Guidelines
- Medication Eligibility: Ensure that the medication is a regular prescription issued by Health Nexus Launceston. We cannot process requests for medications prescribed by other Doctors.
- Antibiotics: The Doctors who work here will not process requests for antibiotics without a consultation.
- Pain Relief: The Doctors who work here will not process requests for pain relief medications unless discussed with the prescribing GP.
How to Request a Prescription or Referral using Automed AMs Connect:
- Download the App: Get started by downloading the Automed AMs Connect app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
- Log In: Open the app and sign in with your credentials. If you’re new to the app, you’ll need to register with your personal details.
- Request Your Prescription: Navigate to the prescription request section and enter in your script details.
- Confirm and Submit: Review your request, ensure all information is accurate, and submit it. You’ll receive a confirmation once your request is received.
- Stay Updated: You’ll be notified when your prescription is approved and sent to you as an e-script or to your nominated pharmacy.
