Health Nexus Launceston GP Medical Centre Open 7 Days
Health Nexus Launceston is a purpose-built medical centre located at 24 Wellington Street, Launceston, with a team of 13 GPs providing comprehensive care 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
We are welcoming new patients and offer a wide range of healthcare services, including same-day and after-hours appointments, skin cancer checks, iron infusions, vaccinations and free on-site pathology collection. Our doctors can also provide consultations in more than 10 languages.
Mixed Billing & Bulk Billing
We offer a mixed billing model with the following bulk billing arrangements:
Children aged 12 and under: Bulk billed whenever the practice is open, including evenings and weekends.
DVA Gold Card holders: Bulk billed whenever the practice is open, including evenings and weekends.
Pension Card holders aged 65 and over: Bulk billed Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm.

Common questions about Health Nexus Launceston
Are you accepting new patients?
Yes. Health Nexus Launceston has 13 GPs and is taking new patients. Book online through AutoMed or HotDoc, or call (03) 6351 5610. New patients can complete the registration form on our Patient Forms page before their first visit.
Do you bulk bill?
We are a mixed-billing practice. Children aged 12 and under are bulk billed whenever the practice is open, including evenings and weekends; pension card holders over 65 and DVA Gold Card holders are bulk billed on weekdays between 8am and 5pm. All other consultations are privately billed with the Medicare rebate claimed on the spot, and other concession card holders and students pay a discounted fee. What are your opening hours?
Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm, Saturday 8am to 5pm and Sunday 9am to 5pm. After-hours fees apply before 8am on weekdays, on Saturdays, and all day on Sundays and public holidays. We are open every day of the year, including Christmas Day, New Year’s Day and all other public holidays, on our standard hours for that day.
Can I be seen today?
Usually, yes. Our walk-in clinic runs 5pm to 7pm on weekdays and 1pm to 3pm at weekends, we keep same-day appointments for urgent problems every day, and our after-hours appointments run until 8pm on weekdays. Call (03) 6351 5610 as early in the day as you can, or check online for the next available appointment.
Is there pathology on site?
Yes. A pathology collection centre operates at the practice Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 12.30pm, so blood tests can be done straight after your appointment.
