Health Nexus Launceston is a mixed-billing practice. Children aged 12 and under, pension card holders aged over 65, and DVA Gold Card holders are always bulk billed. All other consultations are privately billed, with the Medicare rebate claimed on the spot. Other concession card holders and students may be eligible for a discounted fee.

Standard fees apply from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday. Additional charges for after-hours services are outlined below.
* The general practitioners who work from Health Nexus are available for 10 minute appointments to cover a single medical issue. If you wish to discuss several medical conditions, please advice our receptionist when making your booking as you may require a longer appointment.
Bulk Billing
Children aged 12 and under, pension card holders aged over 65, and DVA Gold Card holders are always bulk billed.
Telehealth
- Telehealth is only available to established clients.
- All telephone and telehealth consultations are subject to standard fees and are eligible for Medicare rebates.
Failure to Attend
We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise, leading to missed appointments. However, we kindly request that you inform us at least 2 hours in advance if you are unable to attend your scheduled consultation.
Failure to attend without sufficient notice may result in a missed appointment fee of $57 being added to your account. This fee compensates for the time and resources allocated for your appointment slot, which could have been made available to other clients.
Account Payments
Your account is payable on the day of your consultation.
Please note that failure to make payment on the day of your consultation may result in additional fees being applied to your account.
Discount Fees
- The discount rate applies to those that hold a pension card, health care card, or Commonwealth Senior card.
- The discount rate applies to all students aged 13–18, and to students over 18 who can present a valid student ID card.
After-Hours Fees
After-hours fees are applicable during the following times:
- Before 8:00am on weekdays - $15 in addition to consult fee
- Saturdays before 1:00pm - $10 in addition to consult fee
- Saturdays after 1:00pm - $15 in addition to consult fee
- All day on Sundays and public holidays - $15 in addition to consult fee
Minor Procedures
Workers Compensation Billing
If your consultation is related to a Workers Compensation claim, we can bill your insurer directly when you provide a valid claim number.
If you do not have a claim number, you will be responsible for payment of the account. Once your claim has been accepted and a claim number is provided, please speak with our reception team regarding your account.
