Health Nexus Launceston is a mixed-billing practice. We bulk bill children aged 12 and under for consultations whenever the practice is open, including evenings and weekends. Pension card holders over 65 and DVA Gold Card holders are bulk billed for consultations on weekdays between 8am and 5pm. All other consultations are privately billed, with the Medicare rebate claimed on the spot, and a discounted fee applies to other pension, health care and Commonwealth Seniors card holders and to students.
The fees below apply from 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. After-hours loadings, procedure gaps and our missed-appointment policy are listed further down the page.

Standard fees apply from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday. Additional charges for after-hours services are outlined below.
* The general practitioners who work from Health Nexus are available for 10 minute appointments to cover a single medical issue. If you wish to discuss several medical conditions, please advice our receptionist when making your booking as you may require a longer appointment.
Bulk Billing
Children aged 12 and under are bulk billed whenever the practice is open, including evenings and weekends. The other bulk billing categories below apply Monday – Friday 8:00am–5:00pm.
- Bulk billing for children aged 12 and under – any time we are open
- Bulk billing for pension card holders over 65 years – weekdays 8:00am–5:00pm
- Bulk billing for DVA Gold card holders – weekdays 8:00am–5:00pm
After-Hours Fees
After-hours fees are applicable during the following times:
- Before 8:00am on weekdays - $15 in addition to consult fee
- Saturdays before 1:00pm - $10 in addition to consult fee
- Saturdays after 1:00pm - $15 in addition to consult fee
- All day on Sundays and public holidays - $15 in addition to consult fee
Failure to Attend
We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise, leading to missed appointments. However, we kindly request that you inform us at least 2 hours in advance if you are unable to attend your scheduled consultation.
Failure to attend without sufficient notice may result in a missed appointment fee of $57 being added to your account. This fee compensates for the time and resources allocated for your appointment slot, which could have been made available to other clients.
Discount Fees
- The discount rate applies to those that hold a pension card, health care card, or Commonwealth Senior card.
- The discount rate applies to all students aged 13–18, and to students over 18 who can present a valid student ID card.
Telehealth
- Telehealth is only available to established clients.
- All telephone and telehealth consultations are subject to standard fees and are eligible for Medicare rebates.
